Please let us know if you have been contacted

It has been brought to the attention of the Office of the Public Guardian that a fraud has been attempted using its details to give authenticity to communications and documents purporting to have been sent by solicitors. These refer to an entitlement, as beneficiary of a deceased's estate, to a very large sum of money and include a request for payment of an administration fee.

This scam has been brought to the attention of the Metropolitan Police.

If you receive a similar communication, or anything unsolicited and presenting to be on the authority of the OPG, DO NOT RESPOND directly. Instead, please email us details to customerservices@publicguardian.gsi.gov.uk or call our contact centre. We will be able to confirm whether it is a genuine OPG communication or pass details to the police where fraud is suspected.
